Description

The Goldspiel-Provost Classical Guitar Duo was one of the most exciting and sought-after guitar duos in the country. They enthralled audiences with their musicality, perfectly matched sound and virtuoso arrangements of music from the Baroque to Pop and Jazz. The Duo’s musical artistry, finesse, and informative dialogue appealed to a wide range of musical taste. They have given performances for some of the most prestigious concert halls, universities, and music associations, throughout the country. Their first two recordings, Bluebird (1998) and Grand Duo (2000) have garnered critical acclaim and can be heard across the United States on National Public Radio Stations. Latin Magic was their fifth and last CD released in 2009.

“The music of Spain and Latin America has long been a major part of the classical guitar repertoire. Guitarists clearly have been attracted to the strong melodic and rhythmic nature of this music. These composers have captured a character that embraces not only the idiomatic qualities of the guitar but one that is truly evocative of Spanish and Latin American culture. It is to this magical blending of music and spirit that this recording is dedicated. Here, original and arranged works from the standard repertoire find a home next to new works written just for the Goldspiel-Provost Duo.”
