Alan Goldspiel, classical guitarist and composer, traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio at the beginning of March to supervise the recording of his composition titled Soldier of Mine to be released on ABLAZE Records in 2020.
December brought exciting news to classical guitarist/composer, Alan Goldspiel, when he was notified by Ablaze Records that his piece, Soldier of Mine, was selected to be on the label’s New Choral Voices Vol. 4 CD.
Dr. Alan Goldspiel traveled to Nashville, TN to attend 2018 Summer NAMM as a 2018 NAMM Foundation/CMS GenNext Fellow. Goldspiel was awarded The NAMM Foundation-College Music Society Grant back in May as one of fourteen music faculty members nationwide chosen to participate in the CMS-NAMM Summer Fellows Program for Music Faculty.
On May 7th, 2018, Dr. Alan Goldspiel was awarded The NAMM Foundation-College Music Society Grant. The grant designates Goldspiel as a “2018 NAMM Foundation/CMS GenNext Fellow. Goldspiel was selected as one of nine music faculty members nationwide chosen to participate in the CMS-NAMM Summer Fellows Program for Music Faculty.
The program is designed to introduce music faculty to professions in the music industry, giving them background to better prepare students for careers as 21st-century musicians. The NAMM Foundation College Music Society Fellows Award seeks to support individuals who exhibit commitment and aptitude for developing curricula related to business leadership and innovation in the music products industry.
On April 28th, 2018, Dr. Alan Goldspiel, Chair and Professor of Music at the University of Montevallo was inducted into Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity as a Distinguished Member-Friend of the Arts.
